What actually happens at an LTB hearing
Most hearings are now held by video. You'll be scheduled into a block with other matters, so expect to wait — being in the queue for a while is normal, and leaving the call is not.

Before the hearing there is usually a chance to speak with the other side, and duty counsel is generally available to unrepresented tenants. The Board also offers mediation; a great many files resolve there rather than in front of a member.
Evidence is the thing people get wrong. It has to be filed with the Board and served on the other side in advance, by the deadlines set out in the notice of hearing and the Board's rules. Documents produced for the first time on the day are frequently refused. Number your pages, bring your ledger or your photographs in order, and be ready to say what each one proves.
